"'PTR Info" - Directory and guide of 'Paid to Read' programs
PTR means "Paid To Read" and this is an easy way to receive money for reading advertisers emails and visiting websites. It is similar to PTC (paid to click) way of online earning. There is a slight difference between PTC site and PTR sites, which is very nominal because both pay you to either click on ad for few seconds. You receive the e-mail from PTR sites usually and need to click on links, but few sites require you to lon in to the site to click on ads.
Whatever the sites you choose to make money, search very carefully before signing for any of those sites. I would be writing more posts about PTR or PTC sites and useful resources in coming posts, so we can sign up for the reliable sites to make money.
"PTR info" is a one of the useful links for anyone interested making money with PTR.
- It is a PTR Guide to get you started on what to expect, and they offer directory of PTR Programs with stats so you can choose which ones to join.
- You can read other peoples reviews, and see which sites are currently paying.
- Their Certified Programs section also shows you the top payers of the moment.

Social Networking around the net
'Social networking' is a term used for online communities where online users gather and share their interestes. MySpace and Facebook are 2 examples of most popular social networking sites. Facebook has 115,000,000 registered users; Classmates has 50,000,000; and MySpace has 110,000,000 (Source:Wikipedia.com 8-8-08)
Let’s learn the definition of ’social networking’ .
According to wikipedia:‘A social network is a social structure made of nodes (which are generally individuals or organizations) that are tied by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as values, visions, ideas, financial exchange, friendship, kinship, dislike, conflict or trade.’
Another definition is : Social networking is the grouping of individuals into specific groups, like small rural communities or a neighborhood subdivision.
When it comes to online social networking, websites are commonly used. These websites are known as social sites. Social networking websites function like an online community of internet users. Depending on the website in question, many of these online community members share a common interest such as hobbies, religion, or politics. Once you are granted access to a social networking website you can begin to socialize. This socialization may include reading the profile pages of other members and possibly even contacting them.
The friends that you can make are just one of the many benefits to social networking online. Another one of those benefits includes diversity because the internet gives individuals from all around the world access to social networking sites. This means that although you are in the United States, you could develop an online friendship with someone in Denmark. Not only will you make new friends, but you just might learn a thing or two about new cultures or new languages and learning is always a good thing.
As mentioned, social networking often involves grouping specific individuals or organizations together. While there are a number of social networking websites that focus on particular interests, there are others that do not. The websites without a main focus are often referred to as “traditional” social networking websites and usually have open memberships. This means that anyone can become a member, no matter what their hobbies, beliefs, or views are. However, once you are inside this online community, you can begin to create your own network of friends and eliminate members that do not share common interests or goals.
Benefits of joining social networking sites?
- Not only have social networking websites made it safer to meet people online, it also allows us to meet people that share the same or similar interests. Most social networking websites allow you to create your own profile; in fact, many even give you your own webpage. These profiles or pages will allow you to share information about yourself, including your likes and dislikes, hobbies, education, etc. Since all other network members complete their own pages and profiles, it should be fairly easy for you to meet with other internet users, especially those who enjoy or believe in the same things that you do.
- You literally have a wide variety of different choices. As social networking websites have increased in popularity, so did the number of websites that could be found online.

Search the net with the help of Encyclopedia
Teachers, students, scholars or parents who browse the net for information need to check online encyclopedia but the easiest way of searching is to write the term or word at search engine box. May be at first page you can find a link to the meaning or link to that word or phrase but you won't find specific information yet. So the best way is to keep a record of links to the sites which help you search through famous encyclopedias. This article would help you find useful links regarding your search for encyclopedia.
Do you know what is meant by ‘Encyclopedia’ and what we can get from it?
Well, first learn about the definition of the term:
According to the definition by “Wikipedia”:
“An encyclopedia is a comprehensive written compendium that contains information on either all branches of knowledge or a particular branch of knowledge. Encyclopedias are divided into articles with one article on each subject covered. The articles on subjects in an encyclopedia are usually accessed alphabetically by article name and can be contained in one volume or many volumes, depending on the amount of material included.
“ Indeed, the purpose of an encyclopedia is to collect knowledge disseminated around the globe; to set forth its general system to the men with whom we live, and transmit it to those who will come after us, so that the work of preceding centuries will not become useless to the centuries to come; and so that our offspring, becoming better instructed, will at the same time become more virtuous and happy, and that we should not die without having rendered a service to the human race.”
But is there any difference between a dictionary and encyclopedia?
Yes! ‘A dictionary primarily focuses on words and their definitions, and typically provides limited information, analysis, or background for the word defined.’
and ‘ an encyclopedia treats each subject in more depth and conveys the most relevant accumulated knowledge on that subject or discipline, given the overall length of the particular work. An encyclopedia also often includes many maps and illustrations, as well as bibliography and statistics.’
Free encyclopediaThe concept of a new free encyclopedia began with the Interpedia proposal on Usenet in 1993, which outlined an Internet-based online encyclopedia to which anyone could submit content and that would be freely accessible.
The English Wikipedia became the world’s largest encyclopedia in 2004 at the 300,000 article stage. As of July 2007, Wikipedia has over 2.0 million articles in English and well over 8 million combined in over 250 languages.Wikipedia is one of the first “user generated content” encyclopedias.

How to protect us against internet frauds and scams?
I have started posting the topics which would hopefully help the internet users like as internet use, fraud, scams and other useful links. Because I remember wasting more than one year with pay per click scams and I wanted net surfers to learn more about the net. There are some sites which can help us protect against internet frauds and scams. I would be reviewing those sites in a series of posts. So keep checking for the updated posts.
Fraud.org is from the National Consumer's League's Fraud Center, which has helped millions of consumers avoid internet scams. The Fraud Center is operated by the National Consumers League, America’s oldest nonprofit consumer organization.
Mission:
'Our mission is to give consumers the information they need to avoid becoming victims of telemarketing and Internet fraud and to help them get their complaints to law enforcement agencies quickly and easily.'
How it works?
You can find the answers of these questions from the link above:
How do I file a complaint?
What if my complaint isn’t about telemarketing or Internet fraud?
What information do I need to make a complaint?
I’m a seller and a buyer has ripped me off. Can I complain to the Fraud Center?
How do I know that the Fraud Center received my complaint?
Can I add more information to my complaint after I submit it?
Why do you ask for my year of birth ?
What happens with my complaint?
How can I get my money back?
Can I check with the Fraud Center about a seller or company?
How can I tell if something might be a scam?
What if I report something and it turns out not to be a scam?
Can I get a lawyer and sue the seller or company?
How do I know if someone who says they want to help me is legitimate?
Someone I know is a victim of telemarketing or Internet fraud. What can I do?
I think I’m a victim of identity theft. Can I report that to the Fraud Center
