Are you feeling bored?

Sometimes life seems very dull and boring to us. And to get rid of this boredom we plan or think about some change or any activity which is interesting to do.

I usually try to keep me busy, to avoid boredom. I am very bored at “waiting places“ like waiting room at doctor's clinic, at bus or train station and so on.

What are the situations you get bored?

Many days ago I came across a site 'Bored things' with many ideas to fight with boresom. The site is offline but I could save a part of it. I have picked some tips, among which some are funny and some are useful.

* Balance a pencil on your nose

* Send your goldfish to obedience school
* Sharpen a carrot
* Think of nicknames for everyone you know
* Throw a tomato into a fan
* Turn on everything
* Turn on the T.V., put it on mute and make up dialogue
* Turn your TV upside down and watch it
* Wear a lampshade on your head
* Write letters to random people claiming you are their lost cousin, ask for money

I am not a full time work at home person, but I like to search for work at home or online job opportunities to make few bucks. During my search for 'work at home' I realized that net is providing a good chance to earn money, but at the same time there are millions of sites which deceive you in the name of 'work at home' or 'online jobs'. Staying at home moms, dads, students, and lot of other people who want to earn from home are the target of scam and fraudulant sites.

If you search at any search engine writing the “work at home” or “online jobs”, you would see millions of links promising you to provide earning opportunities or work at home offers. But how many links provide you reliable or legitimate work at home opportunities?

“Fraud>org” has provided some tips which are very useful for the people who are in search of work at home or online earning opportunities:

Tips:

* Know who you’re dealing with. The company may not be offering to employ you directly, only to sell you training and materials and to find customers for your work.

* Don’t believe that you can make big profits easily. Operating a home-based business is just like any other business – it requires hard work, skill, good products or services, and time to make a profit.

* Be cautious about emails offering work-at-home opportunities. Many unsolicited emails are fraudulent.

* Get all the details before you pay. A legitimate company will be happy to give you information about exactly what you will be doing and for whom.

* Find out if there is really a market for your work. Claims that there are customers for work such as medical billing and craft making may not be true. If the company says it has customers waiting, ask who they are and contact them to confirm. You can also ask likely customers in your area (such as doctors for medical billing services) if they actually employ people to do that work from home.
Get references for other people who are doing the work. Ask them if the company kept its promises.
Be aware of legal requirements. To do some types of work, such as medical billing, you may need a license or certificate. Check with your state attorney general’s office. Ask your local zoning board if there are any restrictions on operating a business from your home. Some types of work cannot be done at home under federal law. Look for the nearest U.S. Department of Labor in the government listings of your phone book.
Know the refund policy. If you have to buy equipment or supplies, ask whether and under what circumstances you can return them for a refund.
Beware of the old “envelope stuffing” scheme. In this classic scam, instead of getting materials to send out on behalf of a company, you get instructions to place an ad like the one you saw, asking people to send you money for information about working at home. This is an illegal pyramid scheme because there is no real product or service being offered. You won’t get rich, and you could be prosecuted for fraud.
Be wary of offers to send you an “advance” on your “pay.” Some con artists use this ploy to build trust and get money from your bank. They send you a check for part of your first month’s “pay.” You deposit it, and the bank tells you the check has cleared because the normal time has passed to be notified that checks have bounced. Then the crook contacts you to say that you were mistakenly paid the wrong amount or that you need to return a portion of the payment for some other reason. After you send the money back, the check that you deposited finally bounces because it turned out to be an elaborate fake. Now the crooks have your payment, and you’re left owing your bank the amount that you withdrew.
Do your own research about work-at-home opportunities. The “Work-At-Home Sourcebook” and other resources that may be available in your local library provide good advice and lists of legitimate companies that hire people to work for them at home. Social Networking around the net

'Social networking' is a term used for online communities where online users gather and share their interestes. MySpace and Facebook are 2 examples of most popular social networking sites. Facebook has 115,000,000 registered users; Classmates has 50,000,000; and MySpace has 110,000,000 (Source:Wikipedia.com 8-8-08)

Let’s learn the definition of ’social networking’ .

According to wikipedia:‘A social network is a social structure made of nodes (which are generally individuals or organizations) that are tied by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as values, visions, ideas, financial exchange, friendship, kinship, dislike, conflict or trade.’
Another definition is : Social networking is the grouping of individuals into specific groups, like small rural communities or a neighborhood subdivision.

When it comes to online social networking, websites are commonly used. These websites are known as social sites. Social networking websites function like an online community of internet users. Depending on the website in question, many of these online community members share a common interest such as hobbies, religion, or politics. Once you are granted access to a social networking website you can begin to socialize. This socialization may include reading the profile pages of other members and possibly even contacting them.

The friends that you can make are just one of the many benefits to social networking online. Another one of those benefits includes diversity because the internet gives individuals from all around the world access to social networking sites. This means that although you are in the United States, you could develop an online friendship with someone in Denmark. Not only will you make new friends, but you just might learn a thing or two about new cultures or new languages and learning is always a good thing.

As mentioned, social networking often involves grouping specific individuals or organizations together. While there are a number of social networking websites that focus on particular interests, there are others that do not. These profiles or pages will allow you to share information about yourself, including your likes and dislikes, hobbies, education, etc. Since all other network members complete their own pages and profiles, it should be fairly easy for you to meet with other internet users, especially those who enjoy or believe in the same things that you do.
- You literally have a wide variety of different choices. As social networking websites have increased in popularity, so did the number of websites that could be found online.

I could not believe when one of my uncles told me that you can literally download almost everything online from the net. I searched for torrent sites and found that it is true that you can easily download anything from the net. The softwares or games which I can't find from stores, I search at torrent sites and download it. My internet connection is not very fast so I prefer to download only e-books. You can download softwares, e-books, audio books, games from these torrents sites.
